The Jin Dynasty’s governmental structure was based off of the Han empires government. Something especially interesting about the Jin Dynasties governmental set up was that they allowed princes to hold important positions in the overall central government. At first they inherited the post of the three dukes from the Han dynasty but then they expanded it to include eight different positions. During the earlier years of the Eastern Jin Dynasty the ruling class was made up of noble families and native clans from south of the Yangtze (Chang) river. The empire was divided into many different provinces, governors and inspectors controlled these regions. These regions also served for military purposes.
